Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Optim Feed (the “App”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you install or use it in connection with your Shopify-supported store. Optim Feed is operated by OptimCommerce (“we”, “us”, “our”).
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
- Store and account details — store name, primary domain, contact name, email address, and country.
- Product catalog data — products, variants, prices, inventory, images, collections, and metafields, used to generate your Facebook / Meta product feed.
Additionally, we may collect the following types of personal information once you have installed the App, directly or through your interaction with it:
- Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, such as your name, address, email address, and phone number.
- Basic usage and log information — such as IP address, browser type, and the dates and times of requests — collected to operate, secure, and improve the App.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use the personal information we collect in order to:
- Provide the App’s core function — generating and continuously refreshing a clean, spec-compliant Facebook / Meta product feed from your Shopify catalog, including applying your custom mapping rules for titles, descriptions, and exclusions.
- Make the generated feed available so it can be consumed by Meta’s catalog and advertising systems.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App.
- Communicate with you, provide support, and respond to your requests.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information. The product feed the App generates is made available at a feed URL so that Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook / Instagram) can import your product catalog for Shops, ads, and tagging. We may also share your personal information with third-party service providers strictly to operate the App — for example, cloud hosting and infrastructure providers. We may share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Your Rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask that it be corrected, updated, or erased. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below. Your personal information will initially be processed in order to provide our services to you under the contract we have with the merchant.
Data Retention
When you uninstall the App, we stop accessing your store data and the generated feed is deactivated. We retain the information described above only for as long as necessary to provide the service and to comply with our legal obligations, after which it is deleted in line with Shopify’s data-handling requirements (including mandatory data-erasure requests).
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The “last updated” date above will reflect any changes.
